Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival in Delhi, New Delhi Sightseeing
Welcome to India! Our representative will greet you with a traditional garland at Delhi International Airport (or railway station) and transfer you to your pre-booked hotel. After check-in and some rest, visit the Lotus Temple and drive past Rashtrapati Bhawan, Parliament House and India Gate. The evening is free for shopping. Overnight stay in Delhi.
Day 2
Qutub Minar and Drive to Jaipur (approx 5 hours)
After breakfast, check out and visit Qutub Minar. Then drive to Jaipur, the Pink City of Rajasthan. Check in to your hotel in the evening and enjoy an overnight stay in Jaipur.
Day 3
Jaipur Sightseeing: Amber Fort, Hawa Mahal and Jantar Mantar
After breakfast, visit Amber Fort, about 11 km from the city. Built of red sandstone and marble, this hilltop palace overlooks Maota Lake and has four sections, each with its own entrance. [confirm: the Amber Fort ascent is by jeep or on foot, and many travelers prefer not to take elephant rides.] In the afternoon, visit Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), Jantar Mantar (the 18th-century astronomical observatory) and Nahargarh Fort. The evening is free for shopping in Jaipur's bazaars. Overnight stay in Jaipur.
Day 4
Jaipur to Agra via Fatehpur Sikri, Taj Mahal Visit (approx 5 hours)
After breakfast, check out and drive to Agra, home of the Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. En route, visit Fatehpur Sikri, built in the second half of the 16th century by Emperor Akbar. The City of Victory served as the Mughal capital for only about 10 years, and its complex of palaces and mosques includes the Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in India. On arrival in Agra, check in to your hotel and freshen up. Visit the Taj Mahal, the world-famous symbol of love. Then see Agra Fort and Itmad-ud-Daulah's Tomb, the first Mughal tomb built in white marble instead of red sandstone, marking a shift in Mughal architecture. [confirm: the order of visits depends on arrival time and Taj Mahal closing time.] In the evening, shop for Agra's famous handicrafts: marble and soft stone inlay work, leather goods, brassware and carpets. Overnight stay in Agra. Note: the Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays. If your Agra day falls on a Friday, we will adjust the itinerary.
Day 5
Agra to Delhi and Departure
After breakfast, drive to Delhi (approx 4 hours) and transfer to Delhi International Airport according to your flight schedule. We recommend a flight departing in the evening, or an extra night in Delhi [confirm]. Your tour terminates here with sweet memories.
